The best companions
Who has not, at some time, suffered loneliness?
Attempts to fill the emptiness through material or merely human means generally fail. True companionship must have a spiritual basis. Enlightened prayer is invariably accompanied by a growing sense of harmony. A genuine desire for this harmony is rewarded: one becomes a companion to the truths of being, and they to him. The answer is to let these truths accompany all we do.
Sometimes people say they have found companionship in the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. Likewise, all the Christian Science periodicals have long inspired and befriended many thousands. Companioning with the facts of reality found in these sources helps keep us faithful to the highest view of man. Moreover, as we entertain the presence of Truth we progressively lose the fear of being solitary or not wanted.
