I learned of Christian Science after the medical profession...
I learned of Christian Science after the medical profession gave up my case. Previously, I had prayed to God for healing and had read the Bible through, but not until the doctors told me they had done all they could did I realize God was my only hope.
I had been confined in a sanitarium with tuberculosis for over two and a half years and had undergone seven operations. On the day my roommate was discharged, she gave me a copy of the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, and the King James Version of the Bible. Out of curiosity I began reading the textbook but didn't understand it. As I turned to the back to see how it ended, testimonies of healing caught my attention. I decided this was a book I needed to read.
Since my condition was not contagious, I was released from the hospital with the doctor's instructions to "spend the rest of my brief time in bed."
