Would you recognize the Christ?

If you had been one of Christ Jesus' disciples, on your way to Emmaus, would you have recognized the Master as he walked with you, explaining the Old Testament references concerning himself? Or would your eyes, too, have been "holden" so that you couldn't perceive who he was? See Luke 24:13-32;

Jesus is no longer on this earth. But the Christ, the divine nature he expressed, is eternal, and it's important that we recognize the Christ. It existed before the human Jesus appeared and continues to live forever. Christliness motivated Jesus' words and deeds. Moreover, the Christ inspired the prophets who lived hundreds of years before Jesus. In fact, the Christ is still present to inspire us today. Mrs. Eddy writes, "Throughout all generations both before and after the Christian era, the Christ, as the spiritual idea,—the reflection of God,—has come with some measure of power and grace to all prepared to receive Christ, Truth." Science and Health, p. 333;

Do we recognize the Christ? Do we hear the divine message and identify it as God's ever-present Truth fulfilling our needs, or are we so immersed in fear or sorrow that we fail to behold the solution at hand? The answer is always present because God and His Christ are omnipresent, and as God's children we already have everything we need.
