The grace of letting go
To give up false beliefs! To outgrow mistakes! To forgive enmity! To forgive ourselves! To erase unhappy memories and sacrifice belief in the reality of everything that isn't good!
What a sense of well-being takes over, as we sing the song of the allness of divine Love! But how can we let go of past struggles and trials? How can we burn them up for the chaff they are?
Christian Science helps us gain the ability to gracefully let go of a morbid clinging to yesterday and see the larger view of what is really going on. The need to correct mistakes, to make amends where this is called for, is inescapable. When we have done this, we are ready to accept God's message that mistakes were never true because they never happened in the realm of Spirit. In the allness of infinite good, evil was never even slightly real. Evil was and is error, a false state of thought, like a dream. The only value of the suffering that error brings is the opportunity it gives us to wake up from the dream to the spiritual reality.
