Today's traveler knows that excess baggage can be an expensive nuisance. He thoughtfully checks the whole situation and decides what can be eliminated. The travel requirement for Love's great adventure is similar: travel light.
To be willing to travel light in this sense means willingness to drop off beliefs in matter's existence or intelligence as quickly as one can relinquish them. The traveler has the effective assistance of the Bible, the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, and Mrs. Eddy's other writings, to enable him to identify the earth-weights of mortal misconceptions. As these are dropped, he finds himself released from petty cares and opinions, unhampered by material law, and ready for purposeful progress.
Christ Jesus, during his lifetime on earth, traveled in a small area and mostly on foot along hot, dusty roads. A limited experience, one might say. Yet we can barely glimpse the heights to which his spiritualized thought took him during the three years of his ministry, culminating in the greatest spiritual attainments of all time—resurrection and ascension.
