In sharing this testimony my only desire is to help others waken to their true spiritual being here and now. Christian Science has been my way of life for a long time. I have had many healings proving God's omnipotence, and I have seen many others healed as well.

Within recent years I was stricken with a crippling condition. As I had had so many proofs of God's healing power, there was never a doubt that this too would be healed. I sought no medical diagnosis. Although it was difficult to move about and there was much pain, I refused to entertain a belief that God's child could be crippled. Our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, tells us in Science and Health (p. 261), "Hold thought steadfastly to the enduring, the good, and the true, and you will bring these into your experience proportionably to their occupancy of your thoughts." Moment by moment I had to forget the body, to turn from the picture of pain and disease and hold to "the good, and the true" —the realization of my perfection and freedom as God's child. A Christian Science practitioner was praying for me, and I began to make progress.

During this trial my only desire and hope was to awaken to perceive more clearly my unity with God, an important part of every Christian Science healing. When we feel our oneness with God, this is expressed in every avenue of our thought and life. I was also learning to love God as our great Master, Christ Jesus, told us to love Him—with all our hearts, and our neighbor as ourself. (See Matt. 22:37-39.)
