". . . we need to 'debug' our consciousness"

GIGO

GIGO is an acronym used by computer programmers. It means "garbage in, garbage out." In other words, if faulty instructions or data are introduced into a computer, the computer's output will be faulty.

Human beings do not need to be programmed like a computer in order to function. However, there can be little doubt that whatever is cherished in thought or introduced into our consciousness determines our experience — our "output."

Harmony and right solutions become evident when faulty thinking about any situation is replaced with correct scientific reasoning. Our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, states, "Those instructed in Christian Science have reached the glorious perception that God is the only author of man." Science and Health, p. 29; She points out elsewhere: "Matter is an error of statement. This error in the premise leads to errors in the conclusion in every statement into which it enters." ibid., p. 277; Just as a sound computer program and data will produce correct answers, sound thinking about ourselves produces harmony in each aspect of our lives. In proportion as our consciousness is filled with the premise of man's spiritual perfection and with "the glorious perception that God is the only author of man," inharmonies vanish.
