"MAY I HAVE YOUR ATTENTION, PLEASE?"

The voice is subtly insistent
with a suggestion
sounding reasonable
if not entirely valid
sensible if not entirely wise
or loving
or—say, who is this?

The mere question
silences this one more
false prophet
gone out into the world
soliciting attention.

Now can opposite eternal thoughts
of Mind be clearly heard:
"Come...let us reason together."
"Be ye...wise as serpents"—
"Love one another."

Thank you, Father-Mother God,
for the always louder
still small voice
of Truth.
