When still a beginner in the study of Christian Science, I could not read the English Editions of Mary Baker Eddy's works and therefore, except for the few translated works at that time, had to confine myself to The Herald of Christian Science, German Edition. I loved this periodical and made an effort to get hold of many older copies.
This desire to learn more of Christian Science has proved very fruitful, and I should like to tell of an experience that may perhaps be helpful to others.
It was a very cold, rainy spring. Even as a young person I had often had rheumatic illnesses, and this malady appeared again in a very painful condition in my back and legs. I tried to apply the truth learned in Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, but with little success. The pain and impediment to movement became worse and worse.
