Many blessings have resulted from my study of Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mrs. Eddy. It has truly been a key to the Scriptures, not only unlocking the truth of man and his perfect relationship to God but fixing it so securely in my consciousness that I know I need never fear or lack again.

The healing that brought me into Christian Science occurred over twenty-three years ago. After our second child was born I began having severe pains in my back. This prevented me from performing my duties and necessitated paying a neighbor to take care of our children. I had tried many medical aids, but to no avail. The doctors seemed puzzled as to what more could be done. Remembering that my mother was healed of an eye condition in her youth, I turned in desperation to Christian Science, hoping it could heal me. I called a practitioner and she assured me that "with God all things are possible" (Matt. 19:26). I began an earnest study of the King James Bible and Science and Health, poring over both during every waking hour.

After three weeks, still feeling no improvement, and by then unable to leave my bed without extreme pain, I turned to God with all my heart. I had done all I knew to do and now left my life in His hands. With this surrender I felt a peace flow over me such as I had never felt before. I heard a loud snap and felt an adjustment take place. I found I was completely free and without pain. I jumped out of bed in the joy of gratitude for this proof of His divine presence and power.
