Understand God—and Find Man!
A change in our way of viewing man can have immense consequences, and we see man better by understanding God more.
Christian Science is the faultless method whereby we can turn our thought from the temporary to the permanent, the seeming to the actual, the temporal to the timeless, the bad to the good, the unreal to the real. Bringing this teaching to bear on our sense of man is both deeply inspiring and healing.
Christian Science, the Science of God, is at the same time the Science of man. From its perspective man is more than the personal senses present him to be. Whereas according to common definition man is material personality, the offspring of man and the father of mortals, in the definition of Science man is spiritual idea, God's expression or image. What a vast difference! And to human thought deficient in spiritual vision, how obscure the real man is! Mary Baker Eddy notes, "We do not see much of the real man here, for he is God's man; while ours is man's man." Unity of Good, p. 46;
