My first introduction to Christian Science came many years ago...
My first introduction to Christian Science came many years ago when I was in need of a healing.
I had an operation to correct a condition of a toe that had caused a great deal of discomfort. Complications developed after the operation, and when I was eventually released from the hospital, the toe still hadn't healed. The doctor, who seemed to be at a loss to know how to help, said that if the toe didn't heal it would probably have to be amputated.
After hearing this verdict my mother, who was acquainted with Christian Science, recommended calling a practitioner, and I agreed. The practitioner requested that I come to her home, and I was able to get there with the help of my brother. It wasn't long after I had talked with the practitioner and treatment was begun that the toe began to heal. I felt confident that I would get a healing in Christian Science, and my mother's loving encouragement and support were most comforting.
