Receptivity to and acceptance of the truth in Christian Science...
Receptivity to and acceptance of the truth in Christian Science brought about an instantaneous healing, changed my thinking, and brought many blessings to our home.
More than twenty years ago, before I became interested in Science, I suffered periodically from back problems. The trouble was diagnosed as slipped disks in my spine, and a fusion was recommended. I refused this suggestion, believing that with bed rest and willpower I could get relief. However, the attacks persisted at intervals. Mary Baker Eddy states in the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures (p. 446): "The exercise of will brings on a hypnotic state, detrimental to health and integrity of thought. This must therefore be watched and guarded against."
One morning, several years after accepting Christian Science as my way of life, I had a severe attack. I managed to call a Christian Science practitioner long-distance to ask for help, stating I could not even read or think clearly. She told me she would treat me through prayer, and for me to be receptive to God's great love.
