Never Alone

Has not the thought of being alone, all alone, come at some time to those who may have lost the cherished companionship of friends or loved ones?

We are never alone, for God is ever with us, whether we are aware of it or not. He is our loving creator, who maintains, sustains, and eternally loves us. He is constantly pouring out blessings to all His children. Christ Jesus, our Master, was fully conscious of this. He told the critical Pharisees, "I am not alone, but I and the Father that sent me." John 8:16; Later, when he prophesied that his disciples would soon be leaving him and scattered to their own homes, he said, "Yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me." 16:32;

To become aware of God's presence and of His love, and to rejoice in that awareness, we must understand who God and man are. Christian Science makes this clear. Part of the definition of God given by Mrs. Eddy in the Glossary of Science and Health is, "The great I AM; the all-knowing, all-seeing, all-acting, all-wise, all-loving, and eternal." Science and Health, p. 587; She defines man as "the compound idea of infinite Spirit; the spiritual image and likeness of God; the full representation of Mind." ibid., p. 591;
