Over a half century ago I came into possession of a copy of Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, and took it with me to a small town in northern Wisconsin where I went to learn the lumber business.
I didn't understand what I read, but I couldn't leave the book alone. There were no Christian Scientists in that area. So for a few years my only contact with Christian Science was the textbook. As it turned out this was an advantage to me.
On my way north I visited some friends in Chicago who were just becoming interested in Christian Science. In their home, through the help of a Christian Science practitioner, I experienced the healing of a physical condition. This healing made a deep impression on me. It encouraged me to make an effort to find out what brought it about. And I'm still at it.
