The Most Important Point
"Truth is real, and error is unreal." After making this potent assertion in Science and Health, Mrs. Eddy adds: "This last statement contains the point you will most reluctantly admit, although first and last it is the most important to understand." Science and Health, p. 466;
As our spiritual perception is sharpened by the study of Christian Science, we find this point of the unreality of error or evil to be a theme running through all Mrs. Eddy's writings as well as through the Bible.
The first commandment, "Thou shalt have no other gods before me," Ex. 20:3; requires us to refuse to believe in the reality of anything but God, good. We are not really praying scientifically if, when in affirming God's allness, we are not at the same time thoroughly convinced of evil's unreality.
