I am very grateful for Christian Science and for a wonderful healing I had while I was a student in college. I developed a bad cough which, due to considerable pressure of work and total absorption in college activities, I ignored hoping that it would eventually go away.

One night, however, I awoke to discover I was coughing blood. This together with the sudden awareness that I had not been able to retain any food for several hours made me feel very afraid.

Despite the early hour I decided to call a Christian Science practitioner. She spoke calmly and gently to me, asking me to study the third verse of Hymn No. 154 in the Christian Science Hymnal which says:
