Letting God Heal Us

Christ Jesus was the most effective healer there has ever been. He was unfailing. Why? Because he so successfully let God do the healing. He recognized not only God's eternal loving-kindness but also His infinite and unfailing ability to care for His children. "I can of mine own self do nothing," John 5:30; said Jesus. At another time he said, "The Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works." 14:10;

God alone is cause; He is the only power. And God is Love, infinite good. The power of God, therefore, can have only a good effect—can bring only joy, peace, and health. In reality man is embraced in the power of Love.

This does not mean, though, that God is confronted with a deluge of sickness and suffering to be healed. God, Spirit, is All. Nothing exists unlike Him. God, therefore, could only have created man in the likeness of Spirit; there was nothing else from which to create him. "God created man in his own image," says the Bible, "in the image of God created he him." Gen. 1:27; All being, then, is comprised of perfect Life, Spirit, expressing itself continuously through its creation—perfect, harmonious universe and man. And that Life, the infinite source of all being, is Love, ever at work loving man, tenderly governing and maintaining him through the laws of unerring divine Science. Humanly we see this as the work of God, the great Physician.
