I am grateful for Christian Science and for the many blessings I have received through its study and application.

My work consists of full-time nursing in a Christian Science care facility. One day the administrator encouraged me to take further steps toward nursing on a more professional level. She felt I was capable of assuming the additional responsibility, but this idea was very frustrating to me because I was making plans for semiretirement.

After learning all that was required in the way of study, performance, and exams, I felt overwhelmed at the thought of such a large undertaking. I sought the prayerful aid of a Christian Science practitioner. We worked together to heal nervousness, discouragement, and, most of all, human will, for I felt that the idea of advancement was not mine and I was not sure that it was what I wanted. This gave me reason to pray (Luke 22:42), "Father, ... not my will, but thine, be done." And then I humbly prayed, "Father, here I am, use me." With this and the encouragement of my co-workers, I was led to go forward, fulfilling all the necessary requirements.
