For more than fifty-five years I have been a Christian Scientist

For more than fifty-five years I have been a Christian Scientist. During this time my family and I have received countless healings and blessings that prove God's allness and man's oneness with Him in His image and likeness. God maintains man's true and proper relationship with Him.

After a medical diagnosis had given him up, my father was healed through Christian Science and lived another ten years. I was protected from accident and physical injury during three years' service in the Air Force in World War II. There has been abundant supply in my thirty-year-old business in a highly competitive field. When I found myself having to guide and care for my two teen-age children alone, I was given the wisdom, strength, and courage to meet each problem successfully. These are but a few unfoldments in my life of God's law in action as understood in Christian Science.

On one occasion, while stationed in Okinawa during World War II, I woke up on a Sunday morning with an acute sense of nausea and general feeling of fever and ague. Because I had a very active day before me in my duties as aide to a Major General, I had no alternative but to get right to work with "the scientific statement of being" found on page 468 of the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. A part of it reads: "Spirit is immortal Truth; matter is mortal error. Spirit is the real and eternal; matter is the unreal and temporal." I also studied the twenty-third Psalm, which includes the comforting assurance, "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want," and the Lord's Prayer with its spiritual interpretation given in the textbook (pp. 16–17).
