We Have What We Need

Is there something good you need? In reality, you already have it. God, divine Love, gives us everything good. As the reflection of divine Mind we express good. In divine Science, nothing necessary to man's well-being is lacking. He is spiritual and perfect.

Through scientific prayer we can demonstrate that God's work is done and that it is complete. We find that all we need He has already given us. And so our prayer doesn't change what God has done or is doing. It breaks the mortal dream that anything is left undone in His perfect universe. In Science and Health Mrs. Eddy declares: "Do we expect to change perfection? Shall we plead for more at the open fount, which is pouring forth more than we accept?" And on the next page we read, "His work is done, and we have only to avail ourselves of God's rule in order to receive His blessing, which enables us to work out our own salvation." Science and Health, pp. 2-3;

If our needs seem unfilled, it is due—at least partly—to our acceptance of the mistaken belief that man is material. The erroneous concept that man lives in matter and is therefore separated from God, Spirit, hides the abundance of spiritual good, which belongs to man as God's expression. Faith in matter, and fear, would confine us to mortality and try to shut out the kingdom of heaven, our divine heritage of spiritual good.
