My daughter and I were introduced to Christian Science by a young man who later became my son-in-law.

Though not needing physical healing at that time, the truths and logic expounded in the textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, were readily accepted, and afterward many healings were demonstrated by the family. It would be almost impossible to tell of them all, but some have made a deep impression.

Soon after first becoming acquainted with these truths, I became very ill, and a doctor prescribed rest and medicine. However, on thinking about this treatment I asked myself if I had any confidence in what I had been so eagerly reading. If so, what was I doing with material remedies? And so a stand was made for the truth. Knowing nothing about Christian Science practitioners, I continued to read and to trust God, and gradually the unreality of the physical illness became clear, and I was well.
