At a time when my life was extremely fearful, I learned of Christian Science. I was exhausted from struggling with sickness, very acute moral and financial problems, and I also was desiring to find something that would teach me the pure and completely spiritual truth of God. In this state, I arrived at the branch Church of Christ, Scientist, in my community. God led me to His Science.

Since that day my life has been transformed. I began to attend the Wednesday testimony meetings, where I listened to the healings that were accomplished through the study of this religion. I thought that this was something worthy of investigating and said to myself, "It is exactly what I have been seeking." From that day I began to be an earnest student and never missed the services. A citation from the Bible which is on the wall of the church says (Matt. 11:28): "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." These lines, so new to me, were like a welcome, and from that moment I embraced them in my thought. Now that my problems have been solved through the study of this beloved teaching, I no longer cry when I read them, as used to happen, but now I thank God for having led me here.

There have been many healings in our home; among the first was the healing of the fear of atmospheric changes. According to the doctors, my youngest son, then two years old, suffered with each atmospheric change, due to a bronchial infection and the complications that came from this condition—coughs, severe colds, and fevers. All these symptoms were eliminated in proportion as I understood the purity and perfection of God's creation. The concept of spiritual man was made more evident to me; the complete healing followed.
