As you may know, in football there is the feeling that you're going to get hurt or injured. At least this was the way I thought until last year. At school we play football every fall, and I had always seemed to get hurt. I had always waited until I had gotten hurt to use my understanding of Christian Science. And so, in effect, I had actually waited for error to come and disturb my performance on the football field.

This year I thought about it and realized that Science prevents injuries as well as cures them. And so I asked myself why I should wait to use Christian Science. As soon as I decided I shouldn't, I felt I would have a perfect football season and God would protect me.

Well, halfway through the season, while I was playing quarterback, and was dropping back to pass, I was hit on both sides at once. My immediate reaction was to think I was hurt, but almost as immediately the thought came that God was protecting me. I hopped up and was in the next play. For the rest of the football season I played, and not once did the thought that I was hurt try to enter my thought.
