With a heart filled with deep gratitude to God for Christ Jesus, the Way-shower, and for Mrs. Eddy, who established the Christian Science movement, I give this testimony. My hope is that it may be helpful to someone struggling with discouragement over what may appear to be a delayed healing.

About two years ago there was an epidemic of German measles in our area. Upon returning home from work one evening, to my dismay I discovered all these symptoms on my body. When my own prayer did not heal the situation, I knew it was wise to phone a Christian Science practitioner for treatment. She gently reminded me that I was truly God's perfect and pure child of wholly spiritual substance. She requested me to repeat out loud the Lord's Prayer, with its spiritual interpretation given in the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. It includes these words (p. 17):
