Praying for Our Schools
The other night when I was with a group of friends, the conversation shifted, as it does so often these days, to the field of education. It soon became apparent that each person had a host of complaints about today's education and the schools.
One complained that few young people were receiving a good education. Another said that most students did not want to learn anyway and that only firmer discipline could correct this situation. Others complained that newer educational methods wasted time and resulted in little learning and that few teachers had sufficient training to teach their subjects well.
The picture presented was a dismal one, and it seemed to most that there was no way to improve the educational process.
