A Decisive No
A mortal event is a belief—ephemeral, delusive. It takes place in mortal consciousness, because mortal existence is a state of consciousness—or so it seems. But actually, God is Life, and everything real takes place in Him, divine consciousness. When our present sense of life involves discord, this is a mockery of true creation, an aggressive insinuation that in God's creation there is something besides harmony. In true creation harmony is all-inclusive.
God, divine Principle, is concordant, and we can demonstrate Principle through Christian Science in our everyday affairs. One time I awoke to the need of handling morbid curiosity. It was an example of how insidious error can be challenged and defeated.
Suddenly I found myself peering out of the window to watch an accident. We lived near a corner where often an impatient motorist would turn left at the intersection in front of an approaching car. When I heard the scream of brakes and a thud, once again curiosity sent me to look. Disobedient to my understanding of Christian Science, I had not been guarding my thought against the intrusion of discord. It was time to reverse this apathy.
