I had been a Protestant since the birth of my children. Having been quite close to a family who used the Bible for getting out of every difficult strait, I came to do the same, and called upon the Scriptures even for physical healing. This greatly helped me to understand Christian Science when it was presented to me through a beautiful healing of my daughter.

I had an ulcer on my leg, and considering the extent of the disease and my advanced years, the doctor wanted to hospitalize me. We had known of Christian Science for only two months, when I asked for help from a practitioner. She told me to change my thinking, including my concept of others, and that God would heal me. Three weeks later my leg had returned to normal. At 82 years of age I live on the fifth floor. I climb the stairs and walk briskly. It is two years since I received this healing, which has been permanent.

Some Scientist friends used to take me to the services of a Church of Christ, Scientist, in Paris each Sunday. I was very happy listening to the hymns and solo, and to the Lesson-Sermon read from the Christian Science Quarterly. For years I had suffered in my knees and in my hip, which had been X-rayed earlier and treated medically without results. I could bend over only with great difficulty. One Sunday during the reading of "the scientific statement of being" at the end of the service, I felt the kneecap turn and the hip go back in place. I was so happy that I laughed and cried with joy. The statement that healed me includes these words: "All is infinite Mind and its infinite manifestation, for God is All-in-all" (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, p. 468).
