A year and a half ago I was found in a state of coma

A year and a half ago I was found in a state of coma. I was taken to a hospital and placed in an intensive care unit. In a few days I regained consciousness. The physicians who cared for me diagnosed the disease diabetes, considered inherited and incurable. They gave little hope for my recovery. While unconscious, I had been given insulin injections. I was told that if I wanted to live I must continue to take them. At no time was I fearful, but always confident that I would be healed in Christian Science.

While I was in the hospital, loving friends who were Christian Scientists stood by me. They all knew my whole desire was to rely solely on Christian Science. I was able to leave the hospital, and the insulin injections were discontinued. I was cared for by a member of my family until I was able to return to my own home.

I thought much about Mrs. Eddy's statement on life in her book, Science and Health. She writes (p. 427), "Man's individual being can no more die nor disappear in unconsciousness than can Soul, for both are immortal." And this statement on page 246 stood out to me: "Life is eternal. We should find this out, and begin the demonstration thereof." I am grateful to have begun to demonstrate this fact.
