A few years ago in a time of great mental depression, when anxiety filled my thought, I became very fearful when the sight in one eye began to be obscured and gradually became worse. The symptoms were alarming, and I had difficulty both in reading and writing.
This condition of impaired sight lasted about three months, and despite the prayers of a devoted Christian Science practitioner, the symptoms continued.
Through an article in The Herald of Christian Science, Swedish Edition, in which the author used the words "spiritual discernment" in connection with sight and eyes, I understood and wished to be able to discern more of true, real, and spiritual existence—to look at the members of my family, my fellowmen, and myself with the love that reflects God.
