"Come and hear, all ye that fear God, and I will declare what...

"Come and hear, all ye that fear God, and I will declare what he hath done for my soul" (Ps. 66:16). With these words I am beginning my testimony of healing, for which I am very grateful to Christian Science, hoping it will help someone somewhere. I am grateful to God for His love and care. My faith has been greatly enriched.

Last summer I came to in a city hospital and found I was totally paralyzed and couldn't speak. I was told that for three and a half weeks I had been in an unconscious state. A friend informed me that a Christian Science practitioner in another city was praying for me. Each day a friend brought Christian Science literature, and also a tape recorder so that I could listen to hymns from the Christian Science Hymnal. In one of the Sentinels I found an article which helped me so much. It brought out that man's mission is to serve God in wholesome, useful activity, that in our true spiritual selfhood we are forever free to do this. I held on to the thought that we are perfect ideas of divine Mind, and prayed to my Father-Mother God as I had learned through my study in Christian Science, like a child, trusting Him to take me all the way.

In the long period of unconsciousness I had acquired a bedsore that the doctors said was chronic. This I denied and knew for myself where my help came from. Mrs. Eddy says in Science and Health (p. 167): "Only through radical reliance on Truth can scientific healing power be realized." I could see this was true.
