Spiritual Dominion

Healing in Christian Science is a matter of realizing one's God-given dominion. But this dominion is not the human mind gaining mastery over matter or evil. It is man reflecting the divine Mind and finding himself the highest of God's ideas.

This is expressed in the first chapter of Genesis, where God's creation is described. "God created man in his own image," it says. And God gave man "dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth." But it concludes, "God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good."^{See Gen. 1:26-31;}

Here is the metaphysical basis for healing in Christian Science. The creation is spiritual, for God, the creator, is Spirit. Matter is not part of that creation. Nor is evil.
