Seven years ago when my husband, who isn't a student of Christian Science, was notified that the department where he worked was going to close its doors due to lack of funds, he became very discouraged. I also heard rumors that my department was going to let more than half of its workers go for the same reason. So I made a spicial effort to be alone with the Father and study Christian Science, including the weekly Bible Lesson in the Christian Science Quarterly.

I especially wanted to get rid of my fear. In the Bible I found in Isaiah 41 (v. 10): "Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness."

The following day I noticed that my husband had completely changed his attitude. He was as happy as he usually is. He told me that he felt that whatever came of this could only be for the better. I replied, "The job you want is waiting for you, because 'divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need' " (Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, p. 494). I told my husband that now we would have an opportunity to demonstrate our confidence in our Father-Mother God, who is the source of all supply. We wouldn't cancel our vacation plans, nor would we reduce our spending. He immediately agreed and we decided we would act as we normally did. We took our vacation and had four pleasant weeks.
