A testimony of mine was published in The Christian Science Journal in 1960. For many years before that, Christian Science was my only help and a constant cause for gratitude.

I grew up in a home where this religion was taught and practiced. My mother had been an invalid for thirteen years and was completely and permanently healed in three days through the treatment of a Christian Science practitioner and her own study of Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy.

When my son was about eighteen months old, he swallowed a doll's hatpin. It was a straight pin about two inches long, a little heavier than an ordinary pin. In great fear I called my mother. She was confident of God's care for the child. She said, "What of it? Don't be afraid; it can't hurt him." And it did not. It went straight through him without causing any harm.
