Never a Nuisance

I was in the backyard trying to finish a project I'd been working on for some time. The youngster next door, whom I'd had little occasion to meet, began to make herself quite a nuisance.

She called out unflattering remarks through her bedroom window, hiding herself behind the curtain, where she felt she couldn't be seen. After several taunts I walked over to her house and asked her in a quiet way to quit bothering me. But, undaunted by my requests, she continued with unpleasantries.

It was clear that time was dragging for her. My efforts with her having failed, I now had to view the situation in Christian Science—to actively love. It wasn't right to give her a Christian Science treatment without her permission. But I could give myself one, and pray impersonally—clearly realize the spiritual truth of God and man.
