A Larger Sense of Good

How often we refer to something as too good to be true! Of the weather, for example, we sometimes hear people say, "This is too good for the time of year." And they may add, "You'll see, we shall pay for it all right."

Through the study of Christian Science we learn that only the good is true, and we learn to acknowledge the ever-continuing presence of good.

Referring to the Adam and Eve allegory, Mary Baker Eddy explains: "A knowledge of both good and evil (when good is God, and God is All) is impossible. Speaking of the origin of evil, the Master said: 'When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.' God warned man not to believe the talking serpent, or rather the allegory describing it." Miscellaneous Writings, p. 24; When we realize that evil and discord are only illusions of the material sense, we can prove in our daily experience the ever-presence and potency of good.
