It is difficult to know where to start when enumerating all the blessings that have come to me since Christian Science came into my life. Numerous healings come to mind.

One of the earliest was the wonderful protection I had when swimming in a pool on board ship. A fellow passenger did a somersault from a high board and landed on my head. My neck was pushed forward, and I was very frightened. People crowded round me, but I told them I was all right, and managed to escape to a part of the ship where I could be alone.

Then I firmly declared that, as a child of God, I had never been touched. Fear aggressively suggested that I had been badly injured. But I persisted in my declarations of the truth of my spiritual invulnerability to evil or injury in any form, despite my fears. I was due to play a deck tennis match that afternoon, and the physical evidence was such that it seemed I couldn't possibly do so. But I knew I had to stand firmly with God, and I went forward and played off that match. My neck still seemed out of place, but the mesmerism had been broken, and my fear lessened. Within a day or so, apart from a little stiffness, the condition was healed.
