When Parents Have Differing Concepts of God

Young people often ask direct questions about life and conduct. They are eager to receive straightforward answers.

In the Bible, and in Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy the parent who is a student of Christian Science finds definitive answers to such questions, including those about smoking, alcohol, morality, and drugs. These are today widely considered to be relative issues and not always lending themselves to a simple answer of Yes or No.

Does a Christian Scientist have a special responsibility to give definite answers to such questions if some members of the household are not adherents of the same religion? How can he tell young people the do's and don'ts of inspired living without casting an unfavorable light on those whose life-styles do not conform to the pattern he wishes to impart?
