In Science and Health Mrs. Eddy states (p. 392), "Your decisions will master you, whichever direction they take." This truth has often been proven by me, particularly in business problems.

Perhaps my most imposing demonstration of this fact occurred in 1933, when the nation seemed to be suffering from sick business conditions and I was in danger of losing my home through foreclosure.

In common with many, after dabbling in the stock market on margin, with the thought of enlarging my investment capabilities, in 1929 I lost my entire life's savings almost overnight in the market crash.
