Healing through right self-identification

Disease is the result of false self-identification. The symptoms of disease, whatever they are, identify one as a material being subject to laws of matter. But man's real identity is the spiritual idea of divine Mind, of God, Spirit. This idea is subject to God's laws only.

If we are suffering from some disease, we can refuse to identify ourselves with matter and its laws, and claim our identity of Mind's intelligent, holy perfection. Such an idea knows no healthy action or inaction, as lies. An idea of God is conscious only of Mind's intelligent, holy perfection. Such an idea knows no pain but is always conscious of goodness, knows no fever but is always conscious of spiritual love, knows no blemish but is always radiant with purity, knows no unhealthy action or inaction but is always motivated and governed perfectly.

We have divine authority to identify ourselves as God's ideas. Paul says, "The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God."^{ Rom. 8:16.} Our spirit witnesses that we are children of God when we obey the laws of God, express His goodness, reflect His purity, live His perfection.
