Comment on going to church

CHURCH ATTENDANCE IS GOING DOWN OVER MUCH OF THE WORLD. BUT YOU'RE A REGULAR CHURCHGOER. WHAT IS IT ABOUT A CHRISTIAN SCIENCE SERVICE THAT MAKES IT SO VALUABLE TO YOU?

The churches generally do not pretend to try to solve any problem connected with living here; they talk only of the life beyond, and it doesn't hold much attraction to a large percentage of the people. So they prefer to go picnicking on Sunday.

From my youth I went to church, but I became a sort of agnostic when I found the church did not provide the solution to daily problems. It was by accident that I read in a Sunday newspaper that Christian Science services were being held in Ibadan. So I told my wife, "Maybe this church is different." The following Sunday I went. I observed right from that first service that there were lots of differences, and I began to ask questions. They placed Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy in my hands and said, "Please, take it. You will find the answers there." Right from that date I've never missed a single Christian Science service.
