Although I give testimonies at the Wednesday evening testimony...

Although I give testimonies at the Wednesday evening testimony meetings in our branch church, it has been many years since my last testimony was published in the Christian Science Sentinel. I have been deeply grateful for all the healings I have read in the periodicals, and I hope my expression of gratitude may be helpful to someone.

The experience that stands out the most to me happened several years ago. My husband became very ill, and although there was no medical diagnosis, according to others around it would have been labeled double pneumonia. Our two children were small, and I became very frightened and exhausted. I went to my room, knelt beside my bed, and turned humbly to God and asked to be given the strength and ability to act as a Christian Scientist should at a time like this. That is all the time I had. I got up, a different person from the one who had knelt beside the bed. Never again was I fearful, nor so completely exhausted. I felt God's power sustaining us all. My husband's healing came quickly, and has been permanent.

I am grateful for a husband who has been very firm in his stand for what we understand of God as an ever-present help in our daily experiences. Our family has witnessed many healings through relying radically upon God. A recent one was that of very bad sunburn. Also there was a healing of an infected tooth. Once when a splinter almost the size of a match lodged in the palm of the hand, it came away by itself, without any human effort to dislodge it.
