Jealousy and Envy—Who Needs Them?

Anyone trying to overcome jealousy and envy can find help in the teachings of Christian Science. They provide the way out of wrong or limited thinking. Mrs. Eddy writes, "Wholly apart from this mortal dream, this illusion and delusion of sense, Christian Science comes to reveal man as God's image, His idea, coexistent with Him—God giving all and man having all that God gives." The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany, p. 5;

The real, spiritual man as the likeness of God, Spirit, reflects every quality, every grace of his divine source or Principle of being, God. Hence man eternally expresses unlimited, God-given capacity, perspicacity, wisdom, insight, intelligence, and comeliness. Also, the good, spiritual qualities and talents expressed by human beings are, in truth, emanations of the one perfect, divine Mind, God.

According to Christian Science, each individual, in reality, already possesses the qualities and characteristics of the parent Mind because he is the child of God. And each one of us has equal opportunity to prove his sonship with God and experience as much good as his neighbor. He is free now to demonstrate a better sense of supply, usefulness, ability, and accomplishment; and he doesn't have to go outside his own spiritually enlightened thought to do so. What the individual understands and proves in his own thought is what he will experience.
