Christian Science has been a great help in our home, especially with two small boys. The harmonious birth of our second son with treatment by a Christian Science practitioner was the turning point in my study of Christian Science. We had prayed for many months to establish a sense of peace and harmony and to see the child as God's perfect, intelligent, loving, and complete reflection. When I went to the hospital, I was free of all fear. The doctor said it was going to be a long night, and went home. Right then I decided to put into practice all that we had worked with in our prayerful study, especially the statements from Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy (p. 463), "Though gathering new energy, this idea cannot injure its useful surroundings in the travail of spiritual birth" and, in the same paragraph, "When this new birth takes place, the Christian Science infant is born of the Spirit, born of God, and can cause the mother no more suffering."

Within fifteen minutes the doctor was called back and the child was born harmoniously. It was really a proof to me of God's tender loving care, and it was during these months that I joined a branch church and started studying Christian Science more consistently.

We have had many healings in our home, including those of a sty, warts, swollen eye, diarrhea, pain, and burns. I am also grateful for the protection we experience when we apply Christian Science. On more than one occasion, our sons have been in contact with so-called children's diseases and did not contract them.
