What Can I Do About Violence?
As one contemplates news reports of war, brutal crime, natural disasters, and other violence, the thought comes to him, "What can I do? What can I do to help put an end to all this evil? It all appears so vast and complicated, and there seem to be no significant ways in which one individual can help."
But one can remember some words of St. Paul: "I can do all things through Christ which strengthened! me." Phil. 4:13;
The question "What can I do?" shows a willingness to do something. The ability to do it comes through Christ, Truth—through knowledge of God and one's unbroken relationship to Him, through seeing the reality of one's own spiritual identity and perfection in God and understanding that his neighbor is as perfect as himself.
