WHY I BECAME A CHRISTIAN SCIENTIST

"So many good singers—so few Christian healers"

When I was 13 I found a German edition of The Herald of Christian Science. This was in Aachen, Germany, near the Belgian and Netherland border. I didn't understand the articles when I read them, but the testimonies were really interesting to me because a schoolteacher of mine had just had a very bad auto accident. The doctors said she would not live. But in one testimony there was the statement, "With God all things are possible." Matt. 19:26;

So I thought, "All things are possible, so why shouldn't she live?" I took that Herald with me when I went every morning to my church to pray. There were no other Christian Scientists in town and no branch church.

I told myself, "If this is really the truth, then she will live and not die." I promised to pray in the church every day for six months if God would let her live. And then came the day I really prayed in my heart to go to that teacher and tell her that she didn't have to die.
