This verse is thought to be from an early Christian hymn based upon Isaiah 60: 1. Jamieson, Fausset and Brown refer to the early manuscript reading, "'Up!' or, 'Rouse thee!' a phrase used in stirring men to activity."
He that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off (II Pet. 1:9)
