Our family was led to take up the study of Christian Science through my mother's healing of the serious aftereffects of a surgical operation. Mother was restored to health and usefulness through reading the textbook Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. Our family then began to study Christian Science in earnest and to attend the church services.

We have had many healings since that time. One outstanding experience was my husband's healing of what appeared to be erysipelas. The inflammation spread alarmingly so that he was unable to work or to be seen in public. Within a short time, through the help of a Christian Science practitioner, he was healed. He was asked to have a medical examination before returning to work. Confirmation of his healing was obtained with no difficulty.

At another time our daughter was brought home from school after a sudden attack of illness. Because this appeared to be a serious contagious disease, we reported it to the Board of Health. The nurse from the board came to the home and informed us that our daughter had three symptoms of polio. Through the prayerful help of a practitioner she was quickly healed and was given permission to go back to school. There have been no aftereffects.
