For over forty years our family has been blessed by Christian Science. It has taught me to know and love God and to depend on Him for my every need.

When we were first introduced to this teaching, both my husband and I were in very great distress. Our youngest daughter, who was then two years old, had developed an internal complaint. We were told by a specialist that, at that time, there was no cure. We were in England on furlough from India, where my husband was in service. We returned from this leave very saddened parents indeed.

Soon after our return I spoke to friends about our daughter's condition. They told me I did not have to accept the medical verdict of incurability and introduced me to Christian Science, telling me it would fill our every need. I passed their messages on to my husband, and we both then read Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy every spare minute with renewed hope, and we were able to confide our daughter to God's care. We were also able to place her in school in England on our next leave when she was seven, even though we had been told by the specialist that she would always have to be kept at home and nursed.
