Useful at Any Age!
Perhaps one of the more disquieting fears associated with growing old is that of being no longer needed, no longer wanted.
Happily, this fear—like any other that challenges individuals—can be overcome. One need not submit to a feeling of uselessness.
Christian Science maintains that each one is always needed by God—divine Mind, Life, and Love—to bear witness to His nature. Understanding this great fact awakens in a person hope, confidence, and a new sense of worth. Putting this understanding into practice by expressing constructive qualities—such as goodwill, good humor, kindness, sincerity, gratitude, unselfishness, honesty—in daily life, no matter how dull or drab it may seem, opens one's eyes to the very opportunities that make full use of these qualities.
